Winners of Stage 2

We’re thrilled to announce the winners of Technology For Good Apps Competition (Stage 2) of the Ericsson Application Awards.

Stage 2 came to a close last Monday and since then, our jury members have been carefully considering all the submissions. With entrants representing countries such as China, Egypt, India, Kenya, Sierra Leone and Sweden, the competition was quite tough.

So without further delay, this year’s Stage 2 winners are:

1st place: CareFactor from Sweden, with their food brokering application
Runner up: NabdaCare from Egypt, with their mobile and distance health application

Figure: Team CareFactor of Sweden

As the winning team, CareFactor will be awarded with Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc phones and a Connect To Learn scholarship in the team’s name will go to a girl in sub-Saharan Africa, which will provide her with a secondary school education.

The runner up team, NabdaCare will receive Sony Ericsson LiveView devices.

The quality of the submissions has been very high, and we would like to thank all who participated.

Even though the stages are both closed, it's not time to rest! The deadline for the main competition is February 28th, so you have just over two months to get your ideas off the ground. And remember, there is €15,000 up for grabs, so what are you waiting for? Get coding!
